He is a chartered accountant with long experience in Eastern markets. He lives and works in Shanghai, focusing on business and tax law, following foreign investments in China and Southeast Asia.
He teaches taxation at Shanghai Jiao Tong and specializes in tax and international trade as a research fellow of the Belt Road Institute at Shanghai University. He has served as secretary of the Association of Italian Academics in China. He is a member of the American CPA, Australia CPA, Order of Chartered Accountants, Register of Auditors in Italy, and an International affiliate of the Hong Kong Institute of CPAs. He has held roles in the governance of institutions and companies, including Italy’s largest food and luxury industrial groups. He is a partner in RsA consulting firm (rsa-tax.com), specializing in Asia and emerging countries, and has held roles on the board of the Italy-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce, the Italian Chamber in China, and China representative of Unimpresa.
A passionate traveler, he combined his interest in new geographies and economic trends in a project to travel to every country (200 countries and territories), collecting data and images on a dedicated website (200-economies.com).
He has been an advisor to diplomatic missions and government organizations for Vietnam, the Republic of San Marino, and the Italian Ministry of Economic Development.
He published for Il Sole 24 ORE, “Guide to the Taxation of China, India, and Vietnam.” For Maggioli Editore, he edits East Asian country guides; for Wolters Kluver, he is the manager of the Asia database.
He is a member of the scientific committee of Corriere Asia and Foreign Taxation. For Springer Publisher, he is the author of a series of texts on topics in accounting and taxation related to China, and his texts have been published in Italian, Chinese, Portuguese, and English.
