Attorney Fabio Ciani is the founder of the eponymous tax law firm based in Milan, which operates in international tax law. Born in Barletta in 1968, he grew up in his hometown and graduated in law from the University of Bari. Between 1992 and 1993, he specialized in tax law at the Luiss management school.
Until 2013 he held the role of tax partner at the leading tax law firm in Milan (Acmnp), soon becoming a name partner coordinating the tax department, with prevalent advisory activities (corporate income, m&a, and VAT) and procedural (Tax Commissions, Cassazione) and assistance in endoprocedural activities. Between 2014 and 2018, he was of counsel at the international tax firm, Tonucci & Partners, based in Milan, always responsible for the coordination of the tax department, dealing with substantive and procedural tax law. He was honored with Le Fonti Awards in 2017 and 2018 with the title “Tributarist of the Year” at Borsa Affari. In March 2019, he was mentioned among the top 100 legal, tax, and strategy consulting professionals by Forbes. Also reported among Class Editori Milano Finanza’s top corporate lawyers for 2020 and 2021 in the tax dispute practice. Former member of the Board of Directors of the National Union of Tax Lawyers Chambers (Uncat) in the 2007/09 triennium and director of Uncat’s School of Advanced Specialization and Training in Tax Law.
Author of two monographs on trusts, Il trust nell’ordinamento giuridico (2011) and Profili civilistici e fiscali nel trust (2009), as well as editing the title on extraordinary transactions in the Commentario al Tuir Ipsoa 2019 and 2020. He also edited the title on tonnage tax in the Commentary to the 2009 Income Tax Consolidation Act and is co-author of the work Voluntary disclosure (2014, Italia Oggi).
He is a tennis lover, which he has practiced for several years (in the past also at a competitive level). Passionate about cars, preferably sports cars and also historical cars. Cohabitant. Tied, and not a little, to his own family.
