Passionate about high-altitude sports, and travel, an optimist by nature, loves to devote his free time to his family and house labrador, Otta.
He graduated with honors in Economics from the Luigi Bocconi University of Milan in 1999 and again with honors in Law from the University of Milan. He received a Master’s in Tax Law from Bocconi University in 2000 and a Master’s in International Taxation (LL.M.) from Leiden University (Netherlands). He is a lawyer, certified public accountant and auditor.
He took his first steps at the firm of Prof. Victor Uckmar. Today he is a partner at Studio Marino Ballancin e Associati in Milan. He is a professor of Tax Law, in the undergraduate courses of Economics and Law, at the University of Eastern Piedmont. He is a member of the editorial board of the journal Diritto e Pratica Tributaria Internazionale, the Rivista di Diritto Tributario Internazionale, and the Scientific Committee of the Ufficio del Massimario della Giurisprudenza Tributaria del Piemonte.
He is the author of monographs and numerous articles in national and international journals and a speaker at conferences and master and advanced courses in taxation in Italy and abroad.
He has extensive professional experience with a strong specialization in international and corporate taxation and tax litigation. He assists listed companies and multinational groups on an ongoing basis, including through the implementation of tax risk management models, to protect, on a preventive basis, the company and its shareholders.
He is an expert in tax planning of personal estates and trusts, especially in the delicate phase of generational transition, reserving primary attention to managing family dynamics. He also advises in criminal and tax proceedings.
