Tommaso Di Tanno

Founder of Di Tanno Associates

Professor Tommaso Di Tanno, the founder of "Di Tanno Associati," a reference in tax and legal consulting in Italy, has a recognized role of professional excellence in tax litigation and corporate law, as well as in the taxation of banks, insurance companies, and business groups, international and for private equity funds and M&A transactions.

He currently chairs the Board of Statutory Auditors of Vodafone Italia and Ef Solare Italia (and Telethon Foundation). He has been chairman of the Board of Directors of Sisal, Ipi, Assicurazioni di Roma, Weatherford Italia, and Central Sicaf, vice-chairman of the Board of Directors of Tages Sgr. He has also been a member of the Board of Directors of Ina – Assitalia, chairman of the Board of Statutory Auditors of Anima Sgr, Banca Mps, Banca nazionale del lavoro, British American Tobacco Italia, Caltagirone Holding as well as auditor of Atlantia and Alitalia Cai.

Economic adviser to Finance Minister Vincenzo Visco from 1996 to 2001, Tommaso di Tanno has served on numerous study commissions established at the Ministry of Economy, Finance, Justice, and the Prime Minister’s Office, as well as a member of the Committee for the Italian Financial Square (1998 – 2001 and 2006 – 2009), the Council of Experts of the Lazio Region (2006 – 2008), the Tax and Legal Committee of the EVCA (1992 – 2001), the Committee of Guarantors of the Municipality of Rome (2001 – 2004) and the Board of Auditors of Political Parties (2008 – 2013).

Author of numerous (more than 100) publications, he has taught tax law at the Universities of Siena and Rome Tor Vergata; international tax law at the European University of Rome and Cassino; Accounting at the Scuola Superiore della Guardia di Finanza. He is a lecturer at Bocconi University’s Master Tributario program and a member of the editorial board of Bollettino Tributario. As soon as he can, Tommaso Di Tanno puts on his running shoes (he has done both the New York and London marathons twice) inspired by the principle that “good things you have to look for, while bad things life brings you.”
