Guy Harles is the Founding Partner and Co-Chairman of the law firm Arendt & Medernach.
He specializes in corporate projects and works with multinational and domestic companies and HNWI, structuring international transactions, private equity investments, corporate reorganizations, M&A, corporate finance, and private wealth management.
Guy Harles plays a primary role in the international development of Arendt & Medernach and has acquired considerable knowledge of global markets, especially in Asia, where he regularly advises his clients.
In addition, Guy Harles serves as an arbitrator for major international arbitration centers and has been president of EuroArbitrage, Centre Européen de Règlement des Différends Financiers, and a member of the ICC Commission for Arbitration and ADR.
Guy Harles is part of the legal community in Luxembourg and abroad, has been a member of the Luxembourg Bar since 1980, and was president (Bâtonnier) of the Luxembourg Bar Council from 2011 to 2012.
In addition, he has been a member of the Paris Bar Association since 1993 and was recognized as a foreign lawyer by the Hong Kong Bar Association in 2009. Today he serves as an officer of the IBA’s Corporate and M&A Committee and is a director of Lex Mundi.
He graduated in 1979 from Robert Schuman University in Strasbourg with a master’s degree in law and a postgraduate specialization (DESS) in banking & finance. Only three years later, he began teaching business law at the Centre Universitaire de Luxembourg, the University of Luxembourg law school at Louis Pasteur University in Strasbourg from 1981 to 2007 and at Paul Cezanne University (Aix-en-Provence, France) from 2010 to 2012.
When he finds some free time, Guy Harles plays golf, skiing, or swimming.
