He graduated from Lisbon University Law School in 1996, lecturing in tax, public finance, and economic law until 1999

He began his professional career as a senior tax consultant at the former Arthur Andersen Portugal. He later moved to Plmj, Portugal’s largest law firm. He was head of Plmj’s tax practice and coordinated the private client team (which he founded as the first multidisciplinary team in the Portuguese legal market).

He is currently a senior partner at Abreu, where he is co-head of the tax practice for private clients. He is also a qualified EU lawyer in Vaud, Switzerland, and a founding judge of the Portuguese tax arbitration tribunal.

He has over 20 years of experience in tax law and specializes in wealth taxation, advising HNWI, family offices, private banks, and asset managers in Portugal, Portuguese-speaking countries, and Switzerland as a foreign expert.

He is a member (Tep) of Step – Society of trust and estate practitioners and a council member of Tiaetl – The international academy of estate and trust law.

He was included by Financial Times innovative lawyers Europe in the category related to private clients in 2013. His team won the 2018 Step annual private client awards for large and medium-sized companies.

He is recognized by Chambers Europe, Legal 500, Who’s who and Best lawyers directories.
