Tourism is “worthy of protection and preservation for the Art Nouveau style that gives it a particular architectural value.” It is located 700 meters above sea level and is surrounded by eight hectares of centuries-old parkland. The name chosen by the new property, Forte Hotels, pays tribute to the water that springs from the region’s natural springs, celebrated for its healing properties since the early 14th century and a common element in all the programs and services of the five-star medical spa, whose pillars are: prevention, regeneration, longevity, nutrition, balance, and beauty.
One year after its opening, the facility-which covers 6,000 square meters-has become one of the benchmark destinations for the new global wellness of the person, thanks to a medical concept marked by the most advanced techniques and technologies in the service of health and longevity. Reached by We Wealth, the facility’s scientific director, David Della Morte Canosci, professor of internal medicine at the University of Tor Vergata and of neurology in Miami, says that “Palazzo Fiuggi offers a highly innovative wellness program. The latter is not only based on the most advanced medical techniques available today but also on the quality of the selected health professionals, the best internationally. We combine the best of Western medicine with the best of Eastern medicine in an exclusive setting because true wellness can only be holistic.
We aim to work on the entire body-mind-soul system. Palazzo Fiuggi is not just the place for ‘slimming and check-up,’ but the first stage of a new life path, marked by deep wellness.”
If we had to identify a flagship of the facility? “Hard to say. However, if I had to choose, I would say our unique, totally personalized protocols are based on genetic analysis, oxidative stress, and inflammation. Among the most popular is the longevity protocol.” After all, who would not want to stay young and healthy for as long as possible? What is the recommended length of stay? “There is no constraint, but seven days would be strongly recommended.” Does one have to bring along any tests? “Not, you arrive as you are,
you do all the tests here and embark on the journey. At follow-ups, you can feel the benefit of having adopted our protocol.” Follow-up, of course, is critical to maintaining the goals achieved once you return home. What about nutrition? At Palazzo Fiuggi, we do not talk about “diet,” but “food line.” “Food line developed by the three-starred chef Heinz Beck, in collaboration with me,” Prof. Della Morte Canosci continues. “By combining balanced calorie restriction with a targeted movement program supplemented with specific nutrients, molecular pathways are activated that stimulate cellular rejuvenation.” Fundamental to this process is Fiuggi Water, whose detoxifying power intervenes on oxidative stress and inflammation that the immune system can no longer fight 100% over time, causing premature aging. Three areas are devoted to guests’ well-being: the wellness & spa area, the medical spa proper, and the beauty spa with Roman baths). The hydrotherapy circuit covers 692 square meters; two pools can boast the same thalassotherapy protocol as Forte Village, adding a contrasting cold pool with a percentage of Fiuggi water. One of the three pools, the outdoor pool, dates back to 1936. The palace was the first in Europe to enjoy an outdoor pool, which still benefits from a relaxation area next to a 225-year-old redwood tree. Connected to the outdoor pool is the panoramic indoor pool, with views of Fiuggi’s old town. The Roman baths are 700 square meters in size. Guests’ fitness finds fulfillment in the Movement Lab (400 sq. m.), not a classic gym but a place for deep remise en forme, the result of, among other things, the use of exclusive Reaxing and Icaros (Virtual Reality Fitness Experiences) equipment. Last but not least, come to the pampering of the tisaneria, a temple of medicinal herbs of Benedictine memory. For CEO Domenico Giannuzzi, an entrepreneurial dream comes true after a long time. The manager re-enters the game of Palazzo Fiuggi years later, when the facility is in composition with creditors, to purchase it with the Forte Hotels group, of which he is a partner. His intuition to establish a wellness medical spa dates back to 1992 when he was director of the palace. Work events then took him elsewhere. However, after a brilliant 30-year career in the luxury hotel industry, that dream has come true. Long-lived, no doubt about it.
