After graduating in law from the University of Barcelona, Maribel Villaró began her career in tax consulting (tax practice) at the Cuatrecasas International Law Firm, where she has been a partner for 15 years.
She is a specialist in wealth management in Spain. She has extensive experience in tax planning, succession, and advising family businesses on corporate matters. She has participated in numerous family business restructurings and intergenerational transfers of family businesses and assets.
She is a member of the Barcelona Bar Association, the International Bar Association (Iba), and the Society of trust and estate practitioners (Step). She has also worked at the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce and the Catalan Family Business Association.
One of her hallmarks is her advocacy of 21st-century philanthropy. She has organized many of the company’s pioneering events to inform families and high-income individuals about impact investing. With her knowledge in this area and the legal advice she provides to family foundations, she has strengthened the advisory services offered to family businesses regarding investment strategies and family wealth preservation.
In her spare time, she leads a group of women linked by cultural interests and organizes monthly meetings on current affairs, art, and culture. She loves to travel and cherishes every moment she spends with her loved ones.
