The 162 lots sold out of 265 (93% of the total reserve value reached) achieved the best result ever for a fine art photography auction in Italy, as well as for Finarte. This achievement confirms the auction house&#8217;s leadership position in the collectible photography sector, as well as the department&#8217;s continued growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wewealth.fra1.digitaloceanspaces.com\/2025\/10\/Lotto-253-Oliviero-Toscani-Manette-campagna-pubblicitaria-United-Colors-of-Benetton-1989-Lotto-venduto-E-8340.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse has-text-align-center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.we-wealth.com\/news\/oliviero-toscani-addio-maestro-fotografo-provocazione-pubblicita\">Oliviero Toscani<\/a><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The auction&#8217;s outcome reflects a genuine and growing interest in fine art photography <\/strong>among both Italian and international collectors. The numerous sales above estimate testify to the quality of the selection, which attracts attention across both classic and contemporary artists. &#8220;We are very pleased with the results achieved, especially at a challenging time for the market. There were excellent results for Italian artists, including some notable records, and interesting results for international artists who rarely appear in our country. Finally, we are very pleased with the first section dedicated to women (both photographers and portraits), a sign that the results also reflect the curatorial approach, which is very important to us,&#8221; commented Davide Battaglia, head of the department, at the closing of the auction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lisetta Carmi, Berenice Abbott, Man Ray, Shirin Neshat, Francesca Woodman<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the most notable results was the lively participation of works by artists such as Lisetta Carmi, with her series I travestiti, in which lot 2 was sold for \u20ac5,805, setting an all-time record for the Genoese photographer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wewealth.fra1.digitaloceanspaces.com\/2025\/10\/Lotto-2-Lisetta-Carmi-Dalla-serie-I-travestiti-anni-1960-1970-Lotto-venduto-E-5805.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse has-text-align-center\"><em><strong>Lisetta Carmi<\/strong><\/em><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>There was also strong interest in Berenice Abbott\u2019s historic photograph, Fulton Street Fish Market, New York, which sold for \u20ac5,160 against a starting price of \u20ac2,600.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wewealth.fra1.digitaloceanspaces.com\/2025\/10\/Lotto-17-Berenice-Abbott-Fulton-Street-Fish-Market-New-York-Lotto-venduto-E-5160.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse has-text-align-center\"><em><strong>Berenice Abbott<\/strong><\/em><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Man Ray received considerable attention, with excellent results for three consecutive lots: Femme (lots 20 and 21), sold for 2,064 and 2,193 euros respectively, and Patti Birch, 1948, sold for 4,902 euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wewealth.fra1.digitaloceanspaces.com\/2025\/10\/Lotto-22-Man-Ray-Patti-Birch-1948-Lotto-venduto-E-4902.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse has-text-align-center\"><em><strong>Man Ray<\/strong><\/em><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>The market also rewarded contemporary photography: Timothy Greenfield-Sanders&#8217;s Tera Patrick fetched \u20ac7,710, while Shirin Neshat&#8217;s The Home of My Eyes sold for \u20ac12,120 (opening photo).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Francesca Woodman&#8217;s works were particularly popular, with two hammer prices of \u20ac10,860 and \u20ac14,010, the latter for a rare postcard invitation from the 1981 exhibition, Immagini.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wewealth.fra1.digitaloceanspaces.com\/2025\/10\/Lotto-38-Francesca-Woodman-Senza-titolo-Roma-Lotto-venduto-E-14010.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse has-text-align-center\">All photos courtesy of Finarte<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Brassa\u00ef<\/strong>, <strong>Anton Corbijn<\/strong>, <strong>Martin Parr,<\/strong> <strong>Mimmo Jodice<\/strong> and <strong>Gabriele Basilico<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Excellent results were also achieved by <em>P. Harvey, London, 1994<\/em> by <strong>Anton Corbijn<\/strong>, which sold for \u20ac7,080, and by <strong>Brassa\u00ef<\/strong> with <em>La Seine au Pont des Arts<\/em>, which started at \u20ac2,200 and reached \u20ac7,710.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wewealth.fra1.digitaloceanspaces.com\/2025\/10\/Lotto-34-Anton-Corbijn-P-J-Harvey-London-1994-Lotto-venduto-E-7080.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse has-text-align-center\"><strong><em>Anton Corbijn<\/em><\/strong><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Martin Parr&#8217;s New York finally settled at \u00a35,160.
