"Life is too short to drink mediocre wines" (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe)Orazio Vagnozzi was born in Ferrara on August 17, 1958, and graduated in Business Administration from Bocconi University in Milan. After a career as an auditor at Kpmg, where he has been a partner since 1996, in 2018, he decided to devote himself entirely to his passions: food and wine.
Self-taught, over the past forty years, he has perfected his approach to the wine experience by attending a Master’s program in Geo-sensory Tasting led by lecturer Jacky Rigaux and – since 2002 – as a member of the Grand jury européen with attendance by some of the world’s leading wine experts. His collection of fine wines, for tastings, numbers 15,000 bottles.
Since 2018, Mr Vagnozzi has been wine section editor and food critic for the online magazine Passione gourmet. He offers expert advice on building his wine cellar, setting up his wine collection, and performing appraisals of fine bottles. He is active as an investor in innovative startups through Italian angels for growth.
Mr Vagnozzi organizes masterclasses and holds wine tasting courses, participates as a speaker in events focused on wine tasting in Italy and abroad, and writes about wine in specialized magazines. With the Orazio food experience brand, he publishes a newsletter on the world of food and wine and has opened a YouTube channel where he presents his video recipes. He also conducts a series of podcasts for Passione gourmet on the history of great Italian wines and technology in the kitchen.
A Chevalier du taste du Vin since 2010, Mr Vagnozzi loves to share with friends the wines from his cellar, and in his spare time, he tries with little success to improve his handicap in golf.
