Marco Cerrato

Mr Cerrato received his Law degree in 1992 with honors from the University of Milan, starting immediately with Prof. Gaspare Falsitta’s firm, and joining Maisto e Associati in 1997, of which he has been a partner since 2003. He has been a member of the Bar since 1995 and has been a Barrister since 2008.

He received awards and recognitions from national and international directories (Chambers, The legal500, World tax, Global elite, Legalcommunity, and TopLegal), placing him among the leading Italian professionals in tax litigation. He assisted primary national and international groups; in private clients and wealth management, he has helped international families, UHNWI, private banks, and family offices in estate planning, taxation of trusts, and tax regularization procedures.

Mr Cerrato earned his LLM in Taxation from LSE in London in 1997. After that, he earned a Ph.D. in Tax Law from the University of Pavia in 2000. Since 2002, he has been an adjunct professor at the Faculty of Law of the Liuc University of Castellanza, where he teaches international tax law courses. He is the author of numerous publications on tax law and regularly participates in conferences as a speaker and specialized courses as a lecturer.

In 2015 and 2016, Mr Cerrato was a consultant in tax matters to the Prime Minister’s Office.

He is a member of Step Italy and has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2018.

He has cultivated a passion for sports for many years, especially spearfishing in apnea, which he practices by catching prey up to 33 meters underwater, and competitive skiing. He has three children, a wife, an administrative lawyer, and an excellent climber.

Mr Cerrato is a Board Member of the Association Progetto Itaca Milano, the leading Italian Association working to protect people with mental disorders.
